This field trip to northeastern West Virginia features classic Appalachian Paleozoic stratigraphy and structural deformation, characteristic of a foreland fold and thrust belt. Participants will discuss field education in the contexts of geologic mapping on mobile devices, tectonic synthesis, and design of field exercises that facilitate participation by all students. Cost includes transportation, lunch, snacks, and water.
