Refund policy

1. Return & Refund Eligibility

GSA strives to provide high-quality products and services. If you are not satisfied with your purchase, you may request a return or refund under the following conditions:

  • Books & Publications: Returns are accepted within 30 days of purchase for a full refund or exchange, provided the item is in new, unused, and resalable condition.
  • Merchandise (Apparel, Accessories, and Gifts): Returns are accepted within 30 days of purchase if the item is unworn, unwashed, and in its original condition with tags attached.
  • Digital Products & Downloads: Due to the nature of digital products, all sales are final. Refunds are only issued if there is a technical issue preventing access to the content.
  • Event Registrations & Memberships: Refunds for event registrations and memberships follow GSA’s event and membership refund policies, which are outlined separately.

2. How to Initiate a Return

To request a return or refund, please follow these steps:

  1. Contact GSA Customer Service at gsaservice@geosociety.org with your order number and reason for return.
  2. Wait for a return authorization from GSA. Unauthorized returns may not be processed.
  3. Ship the item (if applicable) to the return address provided in the authorization. Customers are responsible for return shipping costs unless the item is defective or incorrect.
  4. Once received and inspected, refunds will be processed within 10 business days. Refunds are issued to the original payment method.

3. Defective or Incorrect Items

If you receive a defective, damaged, or incorrect item, please notify us within 7 days of delivery. GSA will provide a replacement or issue a full refund, including return shipping costs.

4. Refund Processing

  • Refunds will be issued to the original payment method.
  • Please allow up to 10 business days for the refund to appear in your account.
  • GSA is not responsible for delays caused by banking institutions.

5. Non-Returnable & Non-Refundable Items

  • Digital downloads and e-books.
  • Items marked as final sale.
  • Memberships and donations.
  • Event registrations (refer to the event refund policy).
