About the Authors: Darwin Spearing whetted his interest in the geology of Louisiana as a research geologist and exploration manager for Marathon Oil Company. He is also the author of the first edition of Roadside Geology of Texas.
David Lageson taught structural geology and tectonics at Montana State University. Now retired, his research interests included structural geology and tectonic evolution of the U.S. Rocky Mountains as well as Himalayan geology and tectonics.
