If you need additional materials and text for teaching your students about erosion and weathering, this is the teacher resource for you. This resource covers physical and chemical weathering and erosion by wind, water, and ice. Included in this resource are full teacher notes as well as explanations of rocks and minerals and how they weather and erode. Reproducible student activities are complemented by erosion and weathering images to use in your classroom. To help make abstract concepts more concrete, students can construct the 3D weathering and erosion models. This resource has been developed by teachers for teachers. (Grades 4-8)
GSA’s E-Teach resources were developed in the 2000s and revised in 2014-2015. These resources have not been aligned to the current Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS), and GSA has no plans to make further updates to these resources to reflect changes in the scientific understanding of the topics they contain. Please feel free to download these materials and use them at face value. The resources are now being offered free of charge to the education community.
