Embark on a late-winter to early-spring invigorating tour of the coastal geology and erosion hazards along the NW Pennsylvania coast of Lake Erie. Dive into the enchanting world of Devonian shales and sandstones; tenaciously muddy and sticky glacial tills; and summer-season beach-sands and gravels on the high plateau and along the modern shoreline. Whether you're soaking up the faint spring-equinox sun on a northern spring day, or shivering through a short snowstorm while trekking along the rocky and sandy shoreline, the walks, hikes, ascents and descents (of course, weather dependent) of this day trip will be invigorating! Cost includes transportation, lunch, snack, water, and materials.
