NOTE: Field trip departs from and returns to Salt Lake City, Utah. Transportation to Salt Lake City on 20 May is not included.
The trip will focus on the tectono-stratigraphic evolution of the southern Wyoming salient of the Cretaceous to Paleogene Cordilleran orogenic belt in northern Utah. We will examine classic fold-thrust structures, internal strain patterns, and stratigraphic relationships of proximal foreland and wedge-top basins, highlighting new mapping, provenance, structure, geochronology, and thermochronology. Cost includes transportation, hotel (20 and 21 May), breakfast, lunch, snacks, and water. Field trip begins at 8 a.m. on 21 May.
