Studies of DSDP cores, conducted in the context of each drilling leg, have clarified the structural development of forearcs. However, they have lacked consistency between legs in terminology, approach, and detail.
In order to bring this critical information to a broad geological audience in a uniform and condensed format, a group of geologists undertook the extensive structural study of all cores collected from forearcs during the DSDP. This volume presents their work in ten topical and informative papers.
