Full Title: Pre-Cretoceous Sedimentation and Metamorphism in the Winchester Area, Northern Peninsular Ranges, California
Author: Henry P. Schwarcz
From the original catalog copy: The Winchester area is underlain by one of the largest blocks of metamorphic rock in the peninsular ranges of southern California and Baja California. The work reported here made it possible to determine structural and stratigraphic relationships and to delineate a sequence of mineralogic zones formed during progressive metamorphism of these metasedimentary rocks. The metamorphic zones trend athwart the regional strike and bear no relation to the distribution of plutonic intrusives.
