This volume makes interesting reading and and is useful for stratigraphy and paleontology classes, too. The use of conodonts for biofacies definition of Paleozoic and Triassic rocks is relatively new. Those working with conodonts have been challenged to develop quantitative methods for biofacies definition with the expectation that conodont biofacies could be useful as the well-established utility of conodonts in biostratigraphy. Twenty papers include descriptive efforts based on known ecologic factors of associated fossils, as well as quantitative analyses that treat conodont faunas as variables to be manipulated with a number of mathematical techniques. Provincialism is documented and contrasted with biofacies developments. Faunas from the Cambrian through the Triassic are considered. Every conodont worker will find something in this volume and there are some pointers here as to the future of micropaleontology.
