Eastern China evolved tectonically within the Pacific margin tectonic domain during the Mesozoic. It began to be affected strongly by the Kula plate in the Triassic, which became an increasingly strong influence during Jurassic and Cretaceous time. This resulted in strong magmatism and associated metallogenesis and made eastern China a part of the outer zone of the Pacific Margin igneous rock and metallogenic belt. This volume presents the characteristics and genesis of these rocks based on a study of the ore-forming environment of volcanogenic iron deposits. The volcanogenic iron mineralization and its relation to the nature of volcanic magma is described. A location map, a tectonic map, and a short glossary of place names and tectonic features is provided.
