Description: This ½-day birdwatching trip will visit two or three different ecosystems in the Loreto region to see as many birds as possible: estuaries, deserts, and/or oases. The trip will begin at sunrise and will last 4 to 5 hours with a local bilingual bird expert. The trip includes ground transportation, binoculars, identification guidebooks, bottled water, and snacks.
Considerations: The trip will start near sunrise to maximize bird observations. During the trip, participants will need to climb in and out of a van several times. Participants should expect short drives on paved and unpaved roads and short hike on uneven ground while looking for birds. Bathroom breaks will be available, as needed. Participants might interact with plants and animals with sharp spines (e.g. cactus, cholla, sea urchin). Participants should be prepared for a variety of weather conditions in April, including clouds, sun, light rain, wind, cold to hot temperatures, etc.
