This workshop will prepare participants to contribute stratigraphic and sedimentary geochemistry data into the linked infrastructure of the Macrostrat and Sedimentary Geochemistry and Paleoenvironments (SGP) databases. We will overview the design, collaboration structure, and scientific motivation of these projects, emerging community curation approaches, and data synthesis efforts focused on high-resolution stratigraphy associated with sedimentary geochemical data.

Workshop participants will learn how to find data in these databases and how to format their data for inclusion. Participants will have the opportunity to propose targets for digitization, join working groups for data-driven science, and provide feedback on workflows and future development.

Coffee and snacks will be provided.

By purchasing this item, you are buying a seat for an in-person course.

Short courses offer continuing education units (CEUs). One CEU equals 10 hours of participation in an organized continuing education experience under responsible sponsorship, capable direction, and qualified instruction.
