Scientific work in China was severely disrupted from 1966 to 1976 during the "Cultural Revolution." The removal of limitations in 1976 triggered a surge of scientific activities, of which this work was a part.
The twenty-four papers here were presented at the 12th Annual Meeting of the Paleontological Society of China and give a comprehensive picture of the state of the science in the People's Republic of China in 1979.
